Honey Ginger Lemon Tea

Ingredients
4 cup water
½ cup sugar
Juice from 2 lemons
1.5 inch of ginger (thumb-sized), peeled and minced
2 teaspoons honey
Pinch of red pepper flakes
Optional: whiskey, to taste
Instructions
In a medium-sized pot, bring all ingredients to a boil (except for the whiskey, if you’re using it). Once it begins to boil, reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes (longer if you want it really ginger-y). Serve hot, with a generous dash of whiskey if desired.
